Bought New 2009 C300. Only has 40,000 miles. Biggest junk we ever owned. Driver seat came apart. Paint on front bumper cover and all door handles peeling off (all plastic areas). Dealer agreed to repaint. After 1 year it's happening again (Color is Mars Red). Car went into lock mode and wouldn't start. Had to be flat bedded to dealer. Blower motor for heat/air burned out. SRS system set off trouble codes dealer. Said bad seat belt parts. Car is out of warranty and have to pay for everything. Never owned such a junk!Bought New ML250 Bluetec Diesel. Just turned 20,000 miles on 4/4/17. Driving down road and starting surging. Went a little further down road and surging again. This time smelling Diesel fuel. Started smoking from under hood. Car broke down. Had to be flat bedded into dealer. Dealer said Fuel leak and all other related damage from fuel spraying on engine is due to rodent damage and warranty is not covering anything. Want to charge me $4500 to $5000 for repair.I don't believe there was any rodent damage and the fuel leak was caused by faulty parts. We drive the car every day. It doesn't sit around. I also drove it all day on 4/4/17 and this happened at 2:30 pm after driving all morning. I opened hood on roadside to make sure it wasn't on fire. Didn't see any signs on rodent nesting or anything. The car is under warranty and extended warranty and they won't cover anything. This is terrible customer service/relations. We are done with Mercedes-Benz. We will tell everyone we know. What is the sense of having warranty when they won't honor it. Rodent or not. Fix it. Warranty it. It's called customer service. What about the oil leak recall... which we haven't got. I say that ruined the wires or harness and the oil ate through and that caused the problem. MB won't own up to these problems. When the MB Rep called me back she agreed with the dealer's decision. Terrible. We are talking about New Vehicles $100,000 worth of JUNK. Our lawyer will be getting informed of these issues. We also filed a complaint with NHTSA.Robert of Oxford, CT

In April 2013, I bought a pre-owned 2007 Mercedes E550 at the Lexus Dealership with 49,000 miles on car and bought a one-year Lexus Gold Protection Plan. In the one year and 4 months time frame, I have had to replace the brake pads that were supposedly put on at the Lexus Dealership prior to the car being sold to me. Last week, an indicator came on that said "car too low". I am thinking I must have a flat tire but it is way worse than that. I get out of car and the rim of the car is sitting on top of the tire. I make it a half mile away to Express Oil and thankfully they are able to put car in their garage that night. The next day, Express Service department tells me the right front suspension has gone out and it will be $1465 to repair car. This is so disappointing that I bought a pre-owned Mercedes of such poor quality. When I called Mercedes about 2007 Mercedes E550, the customer service reps, Jackie and Olivia, were rude and not the least bit helpful. When I asked about possible recalls on the 2007 Mercedes E550, she said there were none related to my issue. There are many complaints online over this particular Mercedes model and year. Jackie made it clear to me that Mercedes values brand loyalty and because my repairs were done at Express there would be no consideration of help from Mercedes. Jackie also told me that they look at brand loyalty and since I did not get my car serviced every time at Mercedes that this would seem to influence whether I was loyal to the Mercedes brand. This is my second Mercedes so I informed her that I was pretty considering that I have bought 2. She did not care about pleasing the customer and basically told me because my car was a 2007 that this played a role in the car having issues. I am now noticing while idling that the a/c runs hot so that I am sure will cost me more money. I bought a "lemon" on the 2007 Mercedes E550. I am one unhappy owner of a Mercedes and I am extremely disappointed with the arrogant, uncaring customer service at Mercedes. No more Mercedes once I trade this piece of junk!!!Carla of Mountain Brook, AL

I bought new a 2011 E350. Every time the weather changes a few degrees, the "check tire pressure" light comes on and I have to take the car to MB dealership for them to add air to the tires. This happens often. They tell me "everybody" does this, not true. I have friends who have the exact same car and this has never happened to them. I cannot get any satisfaction from the service department. Has anyone else had this problem?Betty of Houston, TX

I have been driving cars for 20 years now and this has been the worst experience ever. I owned Fords, Fiat, Honda and all these cars were decently reliable. I bought a new GLC 300 2020 in Jan 2020 and two weeks later the car started with weird behaviors; it was suddenly off or the battery was completely drained; the driving experience was good. Then 500 miles into the car and it got suddenly broken. The car won't even start so I had to towed it into the dealership. Now they have found some core issues with the electronics of the car and will take them weeks to get it fixed. Make yourself a favor and stay away from this brand.JULIAN of Redmond, WA

I have owned and leased multiple vehicles with Mercedes for years; one, which is under warranty, is the subject of this complaint. The moonroof opened, and never closed; because it is still under warranty, I took it to our nearest Mercedes dealership for repairs. This was in November of 2020. Now in March of 2021, my vehicle sits, abandoned and without repairs in the same dealership. I’m being informed there is no E.T.A. for the PRODUCTION of the required part that has failed on the moonroof mechanism. To make matters worse, they can’t even force the door shut so that the interior of my vehicle isn’t subjected to the elements, or for me to be able to drive it until the part arrives. We were given the customer service contact information for Mercedes Customer Service, and have come to find that they have absolutely no interest in aiding us in this issue. We were assigned to the Executive Referral Manager, Melicie. She took our information, informed us that she would be making a case file for us, and would attempt to find us options or some sort of resolution. Then, that was it; it’s been over two weeks and haven’t heard back from her; she will not return our phone calls, and when other representatives answer and make a friendly comment about “oh she’s in today”, after that they are unable to locate her or get her on the phone and “would we like her voicemail”. No I do not want her voicemail any more, I want my car back! I appreciate the loaner and I appreciate all that Star Motor has done for us, because they have their hands tied - but isn’t Customer Service here to Service the Customer? The loaner is not the sports SUV that I bought my wife, the car she loves but now is weary to have back because of the unavailability of parts. We continue to pay for this vehicle, we continue to pay for the full coverage insurance, we continue to wait. Is that what we’re supposed to do when we’ve been such faithful customers for so many years? Is this what thousands of dollars a month buys you? I would like a resolution, I would love a call back - I want the type of service I thought Mercedes was supposed to give their customers. Is it fair that this representative, Melicie, is laughing at us - or doesn’t want to deal with us, a Mercedes customer? Maybe an $84k car note to them is not a big deal or important, but this is years of hard work for myself and my wife.Salvador of Houston, TX

Since I purchased my 2007 E350 sedan, I have spent over $12,000 in maintenance and repairs. Specifically, to name a few of the repairs beyond the usual maintenance, in December 2011, transmission repairs in the amount of $2,219. In December of 2012, my car completely died at midnight at an airport 30 miles from my home. That repair was $3,539 for transmission issues. Mileage: 62,000. In January of 2013, the same problem occurred with car dying. This time they did not charge me since it had been repaired a week earlier. In August of 2013, another $2,354 for transmission issues, including mounts (same thing from Dec 2011). My car has relatively low mileage for a car purchased over 6 1/2 years ago. I have always taken my car to the Mercedes Benz dealer for maintenance as required and have kept up with it. All service records are at Mercedes. I find that these are exorbitant amounts to pay for a luxury car, with low mileage. I expected far more out of Mercedes. I will NEVER buy a Mercedes again.Judith of Pinecrest, FL

I bought a new GLC300 and it has had squeaking brakes almost the entire time I've owned it. Mercedes told me they were aware of the problem but didn't have the parts to fix it last year. They finally did after 6 MONTHS, now the problem is back! I left a message for the service manager yesterday (he had a lunch to get to). Then I called customer service. I STILL HAVE NOT HEARD FROM THE SERVICE MANAGER. You think you are buying a high end car but in reality the service brings down the brand. So disappointed. I owned a BMW prior to this car and I should have stayed with them, their service is top notch.kristin of Commerce Twp., MI

I am a small business owner. I operate a small cartage company that deliver specific products for specific clientele on a weekly basis in the Greater Toronto Area. I bought the business with a different truck from a gentleman I knew who learned he was terminally ill about 5 years ago. That truck gave me all kinds of problems, so earlier this year I decided that maybe it was time to go with something new; I decided to lease a Mercedes Sprinter (I feel that this is all relevant information, please bear with me). Now initially when I leased the Sprinter, I made an error in calculation and leased one that was inadequate to meet my payload needs (2500 with extended wheelbase). The monthly payment on this one was about $900, including HST. Admittedly, that one was entirely my mistake. After about 4 months, I went back to my dealership and traded in Sprinter #1 and upgraded the model of vehicle to a 3500 Dually with an extended wheelbase. In addition to the cost of the lease, an additional $6200 for the lease shortfall was tacked on to the lease value which had a drastic effect on my monthly lease payments (which are a handsome sum of $1109.90/month). This shortfall would offset the reduction in value since I drove the vehicle off the lot. Unfortunately, it was not long after this that I discovered a very real threat to my business which might force me to shut down operations, which also happened to coincide with a new promotion that Mercedes began specifically for Sprinters. I contacted my dealership to explain the situation, but with little result. All that was said to me was to contact Mercedes Benz Financial Services to see what the options are, which are very limited. Essentially, the options are as follows;a) I could voluntarily surrender the vehicle at which time Mercedes would then send it to auction where they would try to recover the highest value, leaving me responsible to cover the balance plus the tax. This option would have a very detrimental effect on my credit rating as it would not distinguish that it was a voluntary repossession, only repossession; b) Find a candidate to take over the lease (the truck has been on leasebusters.com since August 2012. See leasebusters ad ID # 132995 if you're interested); c) Either myself or someone else could buy the vehicle outright. Now, I'm not asking for special treatment and I understand that I signed the paperwork making me responsible, but let me share a couple of other things that have happened in the interim. I have had two serious inquiries about the truck since it has been on leasebusters.com. The first was a pair of gentlemen who had just started a cartage business and were going to take over my business with the truck who had contacted the individual at my dealership (whose name I will not mention) who sent them the necessary forms. Now part of the issue was that because they were a newer company and lacked any sort of financial history, they were asked to provide personal guarantees on the vehicle. Fair enough, though it is important to keep in mind that my business was enough to get me the truck, so why not them? I mean they were intending to take over my business, after all (in case you're wondering, the threat to my business is not a sudden loss of business but something I don't wish to disclose). Now the second gentleman contacted me from Montreal where he is the president of a large, international multi-modal transportation company and we had actually agreed upon incentive fees and a pick-up date. When I contacted the same individual at the dealership, she once again sent the same applications to the individual for him to fill out. Upon realizing that he was being asked for personal information, he basically ceased all communication with me and effectively killed the deal, less than a week before it was scheduled to occur. I later learned that he was reluctant to personally guarantee the vehicle, especially when it was his company that would be taking over the lease, and not him personally. Needless to say, I was very frustrated at this point. I contacted Mercedes to find out why both business and personal financials were needed and wasn't given any explanation except that it was often the case in these circumstances. Since then, I have been trying to contact Mercedes Benz Financial to come up with alternative potential solutions, such as offering to pay an additional lump sum to bring down the monthly payments, in order to make it more attractive to a potential lease take-over candidate but to no avail. When I suggested this I was told that there would be no point in paying extra, as it would not affect my payments but rather reduce the amount of money owed on the back end of the lease. My business is closing at the end of January and as of right now, it seems as though I will have to continue making payments on the Sprinter until either someone takes it over or I take it back for repossession. If I take it back for repossession, I will have a long-lasting scar on my otherwise impeccable credit. I have done everything I can think of and Mercedes Benz is completely unwilling to assist me in any way. Mercedes Benz has put me on a collision course with bankruptcy. On numerous occasions, when dealing with someone from either the dealership or MBFS, I have been met with what can only be described as indifference. I feel as though I will be left with no other choice but to file for bankruptcy and start all over even though I have tried everything to pursue other avenues and solutions.Thomas of Mississauga, ON

Service notification Mercedes 2008 model C300 - I have regular maintenance done on my except for the service B last year since the warranty had expired since a few years and only got the oil changed at the mercedes dealer. I was quite surprised when I asked them to remove the past due service B notification and they refused saying they are not allowed to do that. This is my car and I don't want them to leave this message on my panel. Can they refuse to remove their messages on my car.Jean Louis of Montreal, QC

I have a 2008 E320 that was serviced at Mercedes-Benz of Portland a few times. Unfortunately, they did not do the work they charged me for. I spent over $3000 in "routine maintenance" and none of the work was done. There is a HIGH turnover rate with the mechanics and service advisors. I get the impression that the manager is quite ineffective.Cynthia of Olympia, WA
