Product Reviews:

Lexus has all types of vehicles from SUV to sedans. They also have every color and all the vehicles are beautiful. Most of the vehicles come fully equipped with power steering, air condition, power brakes and everything you could every want in a vehicle. All of their vehicles come with a five star rating and all of the vehicles come with airbags that are strategically placed in the vehicle for your protection and your passengers protection. The appearance of the vehicle is beautiful. It looks very sporty and fashionable and very expensive. You have the option to put in a roof rack and a towing device into the rear of the vehicle. You can upgrade from a four cylinder engine to a six cylinder or even an eight cylinder. Also, the vehicle has enough room for 4 passengers. The passenger each will have a lot of leg room and space to move around. It even has enough space to put your grocery and packages after shopping.

I was only there for the sports coupe but there were plenty of other models available - sedans, SUVs in several price ranges as well as a full range of colors. I bought the SC430 which, among other things, is a hardtop convertible. It was loaded accessory-wise. The saddle leather seats quite plush and the dash appointments extremely handsome. All in all very sporty, yet very rich! However, this was not a vehicle for accommodating a lot of passengers being a sports coupe. And a convertible as well. Bucket front seats did allow easy access to the back seats but the back seat itself was not a deep seat and not really comfortable for a person of any size. Also, upgrading and personalization options were not really a consideration as the car came standard with virtually every option you could think of. Even the alloy wheels came with 2 different options easily changed by the owner, you could have a certain look one day and a different one the next.

I just brought my 2006 Lexus RX400H in for the 35,000 mile service and to have brake pads checked. I was told that I need not only brake pads, but rotors and calipers on all four wheels with only 36,000 miles on the car. Two years ago, when I had about 25,000 miles, I was told that I had to replace all four tires. The cost was $1,500 and the dealership wouldn't let me leave without replacing all the tires. I have owned many high end vehicles in my 65 years and never have I had to replace all four tires in such a short time and certainly not a two thousand dollar brake job at 36,000 miles. Something is very wrong here. I bought this car new at IRA Lexus in Danvers, MA in March of 2006, and have overall been pleased with the car. However, this kind of component breakdown (or brake down) is unacceptable on a car which cost $53,000 when I purchased it. I believe that the parts had to be faulty or below acceptable standards for a high end car like Lexus. I look forward to hearing from you soon. This is a very disappointing and costly situation, which I do not feel is up to Lexus standards. Please respond.

There were no obvious problems until a multitude of lights came on telling me to get the car to a dealer immediately. I took the car into Mungenast Lexus on Saturday, 3/8/2014 with 89,000 miles. The tech hadn't seen some of the items and I was told I would have to wait until Monday to find out the cause. They got the malfunction lights off and I said I would drive it until they came on again. The car wasn't driven much Sunday or Monday but the lights came on again late Monday and I took the car back to Mungenast on Tuesday, 3/11/2014. On Wednesday, 3/12/2014 I was given an estimate of $10,682.75 for the necessary repairs, not including taxes. Does anyone know of a $73,000 luxury car requiring $11,000 in repairs at 89,000 miles? A car that has been maintained and hasn't been in a wreck, has regular maintenance (although not by Lexus) or any other obvious mistreatment. I made a complaint to Lexus Customer Care (yeah, right!) and they gave me $2000 toward the repairs which I felt was a joke given the forums that point out all of the problems with this car. Virtually all of the repairs necessary are mentioned in all of the forums or other online places to learn of car troubles.I had all of the repairs done except the upper and lower control arms to the tune of $4637.81 including the $2000 credit against the repairs. The upper and lower control arms represent another $4690.15 plus tax. I've been told to get this done as soon as possible. The car cant really be aligned until these are repaired. I had the first items done in order to get the car back and take advantage of what had been offered before they tried to renege on that. Additionally, I can't sell the car as is because it won't pass a state inspection. Even if I get it fixed, CarFax is probably going to show the repairs so I can't sell it as an individual and if I keep it, I'll be waiting for the other shoe and another $3000 or $4000 in repairs. I feel like I have been really screwed by Lexus with little ability to fight back.I plan to make sure this is known to as many people as possible and am seriously considering a big yellow lemon on all 4 doors with something like, Ask me about my Lexus experience with an e-mail or phone number. I have no idea if this would qualify for a lemon law claim. Repairs: 1) R & L #1 & #2 Upper Control Arms: $3210.35* 2) R&L Lower Control Arms: $1479.80* 3) Water Pump: $701.50 4) R Front Shock: $595.36 5) Brake Actuator: $2704.96 6) Bank 1 & Bank 2 Fuel Ration Sensors7) O-Ring, Fuel Gasket & Insulator at High Pressure $1523.67Fuel Pump: $871.52 *Work not done yet. Work that has been done: $6637.81 including tax. $2000. Lexus credit equals $4637.81. Perhaps the shock and the water pump would be okay although with 7 previous pre-owned cars driven in excess of 125,000 miles I had replace no shocks or suspension items. One fuel pump on a 2005 Lexus at about 100,000 miles.

Please relay my message to the senior management. CAN THIS CAR SURVIVE 50,000 MILES WITHOUT ANOTHER LEAK??? 1) Engine oil leak at 15,000 miles only on May 8, 2013 (after merely "2 years old"). 2) ANOTHER 3 LEAKS IN YEAR 2015 ALONE. a) Engine oil leak again on March 27, 2015 (33,802 miles only). b) Less than 2 months, engine oil leak again on May 7, 2015 (35,284 miles only). c) Repeat the 4th time engine oil leak again on Dec. 26,2015 (44,013 miles only). Per all 4 repair service invoices/records provided by Longo Lexus Dealership, California, this is major engine oil leaks problem!!!Had chosen Lexus (also own toyota, bmw, benz autos) at that time owing to its fame of reliability, durability and sleek style. However, it had become a nightmare to me... In addition to the time, inconvenience caused, I basically STUCK WITH IT!!! I CANNOT SELL IT BECAUSE OF OIL LEAK NUISANCE (NO ONE WILL BUY THIS CAR ONCE DISCLOSE OF SUBJECT ISSUE!!!).Additionally, it caused UNSECURE, NON-RELIABLE and MENTAL BURDEN every time driving this car, as I simply tensed and afraid of when this will happen again!!! Not to mention I no longer able to drive this SUV car long distance anymore (initial purpose of buying SUV for comfortable long trip) albeit carrying 44,000 miles only!!! I am extremely, extremely... disappointed, dissatisfied of this ownership. What will be your recommendation of my current awkward situation?!

These comments are to reinforce other postings about the inflated reputation of Lexus vehicles for reliability. We currently own a RX 330 and IS 350. The RX had a transmission seal fail at 70,000 miles and the water pump on the IS 350 failed after 34,000 miles. Both vehicles were out of warranty when these failures occurred, but given the low mileage, I contacted Lexus Service to request help covering the cost of repairs. They politely declined. I am writing this to warn any prospective luxury car buyers that in my experience the Lexus reputation for reliability is not justified. The additional premium we pay for their vehicles compared to other regular brands is not warranted. I will never buy another Lexus again.

In January of 2011, I purchased a 2007 LS460L. The quality of the ride is what swayed me from purchasing a Mercedes. The vehicle had 40k miles on it and had 4 months left on time of warranty. I purchased the extended warranty and left a happy Lexus owner! Fast forward to Sept 2011, I noticed a thumping noise from the rear of vehicle. While having new brakes installed, I asked my local Goodyear tech to check out the noise. They checked and informed me that it was a common problem on virtually all LS models with air suspension. By coincidence, the tech's father was a tech at local Lexus dealership. They informed me that instead of paying them, I should take it to Lexus as they knew of the issues and would fix under warranty. I did, only to be informed that my factory warranty had expired due to time (by 120days), and that the only exclusion in my extended warranty was, you guessed it, shocks! The problem I was told was the right rear air cylinder. It cost $1700 to repair. Lexus, being the quality company that they are, offered to cover the labor if I would pay the cost of the part. The cost of the part is $500. I agreed, scheduled the repair etc. When I picked the car up (and wrote the $500 check), our child noticed that nothing in the back seat area functioned - seat controls, shade control and safety belts! I called the dealer (cell phones) and asked if they possibly had to remove the rear seat to replace the air cylinder. Yes was the answer, so I explained the issue. I took vehicle back. Fifteen minutes later, they explained that the tech forgot to plug back in the wire harness. I left again with my Lexus riding like I expected a Lexus to ride, happy Lexus owner.I wish the story ended there, but nope. Twenty-eight days later, I began hearing the thumping noise again. This time it was with the left rear. I called my Lexus service rep and informed him of the exact same issue again, 30 days later. I explained that I had been on Lexus owner forums since last issues and knew that this was an issue on virtually all LS models. I did not expect to again pay $500 to repair a defect in the vehicle, that I wanted it fixed at no cost. He advised me that I needed to call the Lexus 25 line. I did. I explained it all to the call center answer person. She asked me what I was wanting them to do. I explained that not only did I want them to repair, but I wanted my $500 back from the previous repair. She explained that I would need to schedule to take my vehicle back to dealer and have them diagnose. I did. The funny thing is that this time, I noticed on sheet it said the it was "worn strut mount". I called Lexus 25 line again and asked what the repair was labeled last time. They replaced the shock mount assembly. I wonder why they told me it was an air cylinder. They informed me that they would again extend me the offer of me paying $500 to fix their defect. I declined and have asked to speak with a dist. rep. She informed me that they are on the road all the time and may have a hard time contacting me. I politely explained that today, with email and cell phones, I expected a prompt return call. I'll let you know when I hear from him or her! By the way, Facebook, a social media, is a beautiful marketing tool. Lexus uses it! The downside is that I do too! I went to their Lexus Cars page and posted my complaint right there in the middle of all their wonderful posts about their wonderful cars. I encourage everybody to do the same. Social media is not just to sell products. It's to inform people!

I am wondering how Lexus rates so high for quality and service. I have purchased a 2013 Lexus ES 300h fully loaded and have been very disappointed. I respect JD Power’s results and this is why I picked the Lexus ES as it is highly recommend. The Mark Levinson system is the worst I have ever heard as a premium system. The response from Lexus has been terrible or lack of. I have driven luxury vehicles for the past 25 years, and Lexus has been the worst customer service I have ever encountered and cannot understand how Lexus is so highly rated. I am not the only person who feels this way. After my situation, I started to go online and found many other people with the same concern. I think when a company rates other corporations, it should look at websites, forums and related blogs to get sense of customer satisfaction. I have contacted Lexus every other day for three weeks before I received a reply from someone. I think when you look at the price of the Lexus ES, Lexus really cheap out, claiming heated wood steering wheel - none of the wood is heated, ventilated front seats that do not work very well, no sunglass holder, no compass on the mirror if you upgrade to a GPS, and very poor voice commands on the GPS system. The vehicle feels very cheap; when you close the door, you can hear it is hollow. My vehicle is 6 weeks old and I have had the amp and subwoofer replaced as it blew, and a door speaker and the system still sound terrible. Lexus just "band aids" the issue and is not fixing it. My fear is if Lexus cannot remedy a stereo issue, what will happen when it is a really big issue?

After purchasing two Lexus’, I thought I would stick with the brand for a very long time. This will probably not be the case. After having a series of very negative experiences with my 17 RC350, I will most likely never buy another Lexus. A little while after purchasing the RC it started developing a tapping sound. This noise continued to get louder and I was able to hear it from inside the cabin of the vehicle. I was able to locate the noise coming from the mechanical fuel pump. I took it in to my local dealer for repair. They told me they were unable to duplicate the concern and the assistant service manager displayed no customer service skills whatsoever in any attempt to help me with my issue.I contacted the Service manager the next business day and was able to come in and work with him and the diagnostic tech to duplicate this noise. We spent an hour test driving and listening to another RC they had on the lot. I was told to make another appointment and they would take another look at it. While it was in this time, the dealer involved the regional field specialist and dug deeper. I was ultimately told that even though they were able to duplicate this concern, it was normal operation.I made a complaint with Lexus customer care and this complaint was escalated twice. Two of the three people I spoke to at Lexus were more interested in talking than actually listening to my concern and again showing any kind of customer service. This includes the last individual who was the highest executive level I could escalate this. They made it very apparent that they were not interested in assisting a repeat customer with a valid concern. They made it very clear that losing any further business was less important than repairing my fuel pump.Lexus advertises their luxury vehicles to be the quietest on the road, but when you bring them a valid noise complaint they don’t want to honor the bumper to bumper factory warranty. This is the opposite of what I expect when I invest in a luxury car company most of all Lexus. I did quite a bit of my own independent research and determined that fuel pumps are a bit of a sore spot with Lexus and a bit of an Achilles heel.My vehicle shares the same fuel pump as the IS and the GS. I was given a 2019 GS as a loaner vehicle and the fuel pump was at least 80% quieter. I was also able to determine that the fuel pump for all these cars has 4 successive part numbers. Lexus has obviously redesigned this part several times for important reasons. I am left to wonder if my generation was updated due to excessive noise. Ultimately the unwillingness of Lexus to take responsibility for their product and their customer service leaves me no other choice but to leave record of this and let others know what I have experienced.

Do Not Buy a Lexus with Parchment Leather. Color in our ES 350 seat bolster was gone at 23K miles, picture should be attached. Yet color in our older RX 350 is still perfect at 73K miles. The ES 350 is under factory warranty. Contacted both the selling dealership and Corporate Customer Service, and they basically "Take a hike." Been Lexus customers since 1993, but that has now ended.
