A smooth-running 3.8-liter V-6 is standard and is mated to an eight-speed automatic; front-wheel drive is the base setup, but all-wheel drive is also available. A generous amount of equipment is standard, including a ton of high-tech driver assists and modern infotainment connectivity features. The cabin is as roomy as it is comfortable and offers seating for up to eight passengers within the standard three-row layout.

I bought a brand-new Hyundai Tucson 2014 with 83 miles. After 4 months and a torrential rain all my books in the left-rear passenger side floorboard, were soaked. I went to the Decatur Alabama dealership and they cleaned the water out. Long story short the Hyundai dealership has (1) replaced seals around the door, (2) sealed the roof railings, (3) resealed the roof railings. (4) the Hyundai Motor Corporation called in "LEAK PRO" guaranteed 1 yr not to leak. 11 months later after torrential rains, the back floorboard left passenger side was full of water. I have sent a certified Alabama Lemon Law letter and called BBB Auto Line asking for replacement. I know one person with the same issue with the same results. Anyone else out there? May go to arbitration. I am waiting on Hyundai to call me.r. b. of Decatur, AL

2011 Hyundai Elantra 1.8 L. - When stopped for a red light or just sitting at an idle (in gear or in neutral), the engine 1.8L vibrates so much that your body shakes while you are waiting for the green light. Vibration stops once the car is moving at normal speeds. I was told by the dealer's service manager that Hyundai is aware of this problem, but few owners have experienced this problem and Hyundai may not fix this. I've had this problem since I bought this car new off their lot. It's been 2 years now and I am very disappointed in the way Hyundai is doing nothing about my problem. I have continuously been bringing the car back to to the dealer asking the service people where I bought this car to please fix the problem. They keep telling me there is nothing they can do to fix it. At present, I have 40k miles. Please advise me.George of Las Vegas, NV

Hyndai has trash vehicles and they don’t take ownership. One recall campaign 181 lead to my valve covers being bad but first I was told nothing could be repaired because my engine is bad. Corporate got involved Eric ** the worst did nothing just boss Jennifer just as bad. I called day after day and she refused to escalate to her boss. Corporate world is suppose to help them customers. Poor customer service get all the heat but Lazy corporate gets all the $$$. Bottom line they want me to pay $387. My car has been parked for 10 days and they owe me $400 plus for rental. I need the highest in command to reach out to me or I go to my local news and all social media. Enough is enough.R of Knoxville, TN

Faulty Caliper Pins on 2012 Accent: Long story short, I had Merchants Tire in Warrenton look at my brakes because of awful noise. They showed me the gouge in the rotor from where the brake pad wore because of a faulty caliper pin. They stated there should be no reason for this caliper pin to be broken and the pad to wear unevenly. They called Browns Manassas Hyundai and conferred with one of their mechanics. He also seemed to think it was a factory defect and under warranty. They suggested bringing it in and confirming the issue. I made an appointment for 3:30 the next day. At noon, they called and said the service station was closed and they set up an appointment at Fairfax Hyundai. I drove my car 45 miles out to Fairfax where I was treated like a "stupid girl" and spoken to as if I were an ignorant child. They said it would take at least 2 hours before they could look at it. I left with my ride and half way home, I received a call from the service department. They stated that the brake pads were worn evenly but needed changed, the rotors needed turned and there was absolutely nothing wrong with the calipers. It would cost around $400-$450 to fix. This completely contradicted Merchants (who have known me for the past 8 years). I am fed up with the runaround so I contacted a supervisor, Gustavo, at Hyundai Customer Service. He assured me that it sounded "suspicious" and he would call Fairfax. On my way back to picking up my car, which I instructed them NOT TO TOUCH, Fairfax Hyundai calls me to say, “It does seem to be a caliper issue but it's just dirty and we can clean it. But you do need pads and rotors. We can fix it but it will cost you. I spent the last half hour trying to DIG the brake pad out of the rotor with a screw driver!” WHAT? A SCREW DRIVER DIGGING A BRAKE PAD OUT OF MY ROTOR? I was just told the rotors were fine, no scratches and worn evenly and now they are digging something out of them. I am beyond irate and disgusted. Going on 2 weeks now and car is still not fixed. On top of that, they are having to reimburse consumers because of the misquoted mpg.Marielan of Newburgh Heights, OH

Since I entered my review, I filed a complaint with the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) and with corporate Hyundai. As I had mentioned, I had already discussed this at my dealership Bronco Motors. The NHTSA called me and took more information from me, but otherwise, I didn't see any action. Natasha from Hyundai corporate and I played phone tag, but she never actually spoke to me. In spite of my leaving many messages, I got a letter from her essentially saying that because I hadn't contacted them, they weren't going to do much. However, the service manager (Brandon) at Bronco Motors took a very active interest in my situation and followed up. This last week, he notified me that a new software patch had been released. He helped me set up an appointment for the update, and today I took it in and had the patch applied. Now, I need to see how this turns out over different driving scenarios, but my drive back and forth to work following the patch was spectacularly better. For the first time since I got the Tucson, the transmission functions like I would expect! Just yesterday, when it was very hot, the transmission acted up horribly. Today, even though it was still hot, the transmission performed perfectly. Like I said, Ill be a little skeptical until I see how it performs in a variety of situations, but for the first time, it didn't leave me feeling like it might let me down in the middle of an intersection! If your dealer hasn't reached out to you, give them a call and see if this newly released patch is for you.Kelly of Meridian, ID

I received a letter from Hyundai with the promise of ten $1.00 gold coins if I went to my local Hyundai dealer on specific days. I did bring the letter as I was told and spoke to the person from Hyundai that was handling that promotion. Although I did not buy a car that day, I was told that the gold coins would be mailed to me in 7-10 business days. It has been over three weeks and I have not seen any coins yet. This deal was at King Hyundai in Deerfield Beach, Florida. I really feel that this is a real come on and false advertising. I am not sure I would return to this dealer (although I have bought a car from them before) and I am not sure I care to buy another car from them when I decide to buy. Hopefully, you can straighten out this problem and send me the money I am entitled to.Audrey of Boca Raton, FL

I lease cars every three years, so I've had many cars throughout my lifetime. I've never written a bad review about a car or car company until now. I just turned my 2014 Sonata in early (40,000 miles) and decided to pay off the lease/lose a lot of money because I was scared for my safety. My heating and cooling unit had to be replaced, the shifter had to be replaced because it was making my car stall, the wheel wells tore off because they were made out of cardboard, the clasps on the armrest broke because they were made of cheap plastic, and the back seat material pulled apart because they only sewed part of the seats. Then there was the recent recall for the engine and seat belts at the same time. The seat belts were installed incorrectly and the engine had an issue where it could stall spontaneously while driving. The quality control for this company is ridiculous. Then the last time I took my car in to be repaired I started getting messages and flyers, within a week, from Hyundai about the car I own (I didn't own the car) and how I should extend my warranty. This has led to random warranty companies calling about extending the warranty to now receiving multiple calls a day from credit card scammers. This never happened before I had my car repaired as I'm very careful about who gets my number. Clearly my number was given out by Hyundai and now it's in the wrong hands. I am beyond disgusted with this company.Brooke of Brookhaven, GA

Key fob falls off a lot. Unlike other fobs the key does not fold out, it is an L-shaped key that slides right out of the fob when pressure is put on the small button which protrudes from the fob approximately 1/16 of an inch and releases the key. All other buttons are recessed. It has fallen off in my purse, in my pocket, on the floor of my car, while opening the door of my car, under my desk, off my keys as I picked them up off the seat, and I have even found it on the floor under my key hanger by the door. My husband's has fallen off in his backpack while setting the keys on his desk, in his pocket, and while opening the door.Michelle of Yermo, CA

After buying a 2017 Hyundai Sonata Sport in October of 2016, we noticed, at the first washing of the car that the clear coat was marred in several areas. We immediately reported it to the dealer. We took it in, he agreed that it was a defect, and sent us to several different body shops to see if anything could be done. We had it detailed (at our expense) and buffed but the marred finish was still visible. The dealer then advised us to call the manufacturing which we did. After months and months of runarounds from Hyundai Corporation, we are no closer to getting our car fixed. Their case managers don't return our calls when they say they are going to and every time we call them, we have to repeat our story countless times. Today we were informed there was NOTHING they could do. Sorry! We feel like their customer service is very poor and that stall you, hoping you will give up hope and go away. I will never buy a Hyundai again after this experience.JW of Myrtle Beach, SC

First item was dash storage compartment that did not work, this was fixed, Chrome tailpiece rusted within 3 months, dealer ordered wrong part to repair, had to take tailpiece and muffler off of courtesy car. Door molding worn through after 3 months from just entering vehicle. (Flimsy and thin compared to my other vehicle.) Poor gas mileage. 4 cylinder is underpowered for mountain driving. Vehicle has stalled while driving on street at 30mph.Tim of Evergreen, CO
